How We Review
Our reviews are research-based editorial evaluations, not hands-on lab testing. We work from manufacturer specifications, published compression ratings, size charts, brand documentation and available customer feedback — and we say when a claim comes from the brand rather than from independent evidence. Compression garments are commonly used for leg fatigue, swelling and everyday support; they are not a treatment for any medical condition, and anyone with a diagnosed circulatory condition should follow their clinician's guidance.
Materials & Construction
We look at fibre composition, knit type (circular versus flat knit), seam placement and waistband or cuff construction, because these determine how a garment behaves after a few hours of wear.
Compression & Support Level
Where a manufacturer publishes a graduated mmHg range, we report it as stated. Where a garment is shaping wear rather than graduated compression, we say so instead of blurring the two.
Fit & Sizing
We review published size charts, the measurements they are based on, and recurring sizing patterns in customer reviews — including where a brand runs small or has limited extended sizing.
Comfort & Practicality
Breathability, rolling or slipping, bathroom practicality, visibility under uniforms and how the fabric holds up in the wash, drawn from manufacturer specs and large volumes of user feedback.
Intended Use
A sock for a 12-hour hospital shift is not the same product as a travel sock or a flat-knit garment used under clinical guidance. Every pick is matched to a specific use case.
Value
Price per pair or per garment weighed against durability, replacement cycle and the availability of extended sizes — not the size of the affiliate commission.
We earn a commission on some links, which never changes a ranking or a verdict — see our affiliate disclosure and about page.
