Privacy Policy

Overview
CompressionAndShapewear.com ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we collect it, and what rights you have. We do not sell, share, or monetise your personal data in any way.
What We Collect
- Anonymous analytics data — collected via Google Analytics 4 (GA4) only after you give explicit consent. This includes aggregated page views, session duration, approximate geographic region, device type, and referral source. No names, email addresses, or personally identifiable information are collected by GA4.
- Consent preference — stored locally in your browser via
localStorage(key:cookieConsent). This records whether you chose "Allow analytics" or "Deny". It is never sent to any server. - Voluntary information — if you contact us by email, we receive whatever information you choose to share (e.g., name, email address, message content).
Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Essential Cookies
We set a small number of essential cookies that are strictly necessary for site functionality. These include a UI preference cookie (sidebar:state) that remembers the sidebar layout. Essential cookies do not track you and are set without requiring consent, as permitted under applicable privacy laws.
Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID: G-WSE5GJCHS9) to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 cookies are never loaded until you explicitly opt in by clicking "Allow analytics" in our cookie consent banner.
We implement Google Consent Mode v2. On every page load, our site initialises with both ad_storage and analytics_storage set to "denied". No Google scripts are loaded, no cookies are set, and no data is sent to Google until you grant consent. If you deny consent, these values remain denied and GA4 is never injected.
When GA4 is active, it may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. These cookies contain no personally identifiable information.
No Marketing or Advertising Cookies
We do not use marketing cookies, advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or any form of behavioural profiling. No data is used for ad personalisation.
How Cookie Consent Works
- On your first visit, a cookie consent banner appears at the bottom of the page.
- You can choose "Allow analytics", "Deny", or open "Settings" to review details before deciding.
- If you allow analytics, GA4 is loaded and begins collecting anonymous usage data for that session and future visits.
- If you deny analytics, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google — on this visit or any future visit until you change your preference.
- Your choice is saved in your browser's
localStorage. It is not transmitted to any server. - You can change your preference at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the site footer.
- You can also clear your browser's local storage or cookies to reset your consent choice entirely.
What Google Analytics Collects (When Consented)
When you opt in to analytics cookies, GA4 collects:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Referral source (e.g., search engine, direct link)
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- Approximate geographic region (country/city level, derived from IP — IP addresses are anonymised by GA4)
- Session count and engagement metrics
GA4 does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any directly identifiable personal information through our implementation.
Affiliate Links & Third-Party Sites
Our site contains affiliate links (primarily to Amazon). When you click an affiliate link, you leave our site and are subject to the privacy policy of the destination website. We may earn a commission from qualifying purchases, but we do not receive any personal data about you from these third parties.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Withdraw consent — change your cookie preference at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.
- Object to analytics tracking — deny analytics cookies, and no tracking will occur.
- Request deletion of analytics data — Google provides tools for data subject requests. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent GA4 collection on any website.
- Access and portability — if you have contacted us by email and wish to know what data we hold, or want it deleted, contact us at the address below.
Data Retention
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted. We do not maintain any separate database of visitor analytics. Email correspondence is retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry.
Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
